RoDTEP Consultancy: Claims, e-Scrips & Transfer

RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products) refunds embedded taxes on your exports as duty-credit e-scrips on ICEGATE. We assist with rate checks, claims, scrip generation, transfer and use.

Current status

RoDTEP continues up to 31 December 2026 under DGFT Notification No. 41/2026-27 dated 30 September 2026, for exports by DTA units, Advance Authorisation holders, SEZ units and EOUs, at unchanged rates and caps.

  • Rates in Appendix 4R and 4RE
  • e-Scrips in your ICEGATE ledger
  • Transferable to other importers
How we help

RoDTEP services

Customs processes each claim. We help you claim correctly and turn scrips into value.

1Rate check

We check your product’s RoDTEP rate and value cap by HS code in Appendix 4R (and Appendix 4RE for exports by AA holders, EOUs and SEZ units) before you ship.

2Shipping bill declaration

RoDTEP is claimed in the shipping bill itself. We help you and your customs broker make the declaration correctly for each item.

3Claim data and e-scrip generation

We collect your shipping bills and export realisation details (eBRC) in a simple claim sheet, check them, and generate e-scrips on ICEGATE with your registered DSC, usually in periodic batches.

4Scrip transfer

If you do not import, we help you transfer scrips to a buyer’s IEC on ICEGATE, with the supporting documents such as the transfer letter and bill of supply.

5Use for import duty

Scrips can be used to pay basic customs duty on imports. We help you or your buyer debit them correctly.

6Fixing rejected or stuck claims

We look into common problems: RoDTEP not declared in the shipping bill, wrong HS code or rate, products not covered, value-cap issues, DSC not registered on ICEGATE, IEC or bank details out of date, and scrips close to expiry.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is RoDTEP?

A scheme that refunds central, state and local duties and taxes embedded in exported goods that are not refunded under any other scheme. The refund is issued as transferable e-scrips in the exporter’s ICEGATE ledger.

How do I find my rate?

Rates and per-unit value caps are notified by HS code in Appendix 4R, and in Appendix 4RE for exports by Advance Authorisation holders, EOUs and SEZ units, on the DGFT website.

Can I sell my scrips?

Yes. e-Scrips are transferable on ICEGATE to another IEC holder, who can use them to pay basic customs duty.

Do scrips expire?

Yes. e-Scrips are valid for a limited period after they are created, so generate and use or transfer them in time. We track this for clients.

What about garments and made-ups?

Apparel/garments and made-ups are covered by RoSCTL instead of RoDTEP. See our DGFT services page for RoSCTL and other export schemes.

Will my claim be approved?

Customs and DGFT rules decide each claim. We cannot guarantee the amount or timing, but we help you avoid common errors.

M. S. Advisory Services is a private advisory firm and is not affiliated with any government body. RoDTEP claims are processed by Indian Customs under DGFT-notified rates. We do not guarantee claims or amounts. Our fee is for professional assistance only.
